Under the supervision of the Ministries of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) and Education, Arts and Culture (MoEAC), an ESD Task Force was established to carry out the goals of the National Environmental Education (EE)/Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Policy.

The ESD Task Force’s goal is to “reorient, scale up, and integrate EE/ESD in environmental awareness, education and training systems, research and innovation systems, policies, programs, and action for sustainable development.” The National EE/ESD Policy must be implemented, financial resources must be mobilized, and strategic alliances with top environmental and sustainable development organizations must be formed for the ESD Task Force to succeed in this goal.

Members of the Task Force have been proposed from a range of organizations, including non-governmental ones, international organizations, and government ministries. Members must be highly knowledgeable in the EE/ESD profession.
